Forest badgeForest Football Club was founded in 1958 under the name Forest Old Boys. The team was originally for former pupils of Forest Boys' School in Comptons Lane, Horsham. Matches were played at the school playing fields and the club progressed through the Horsham League and Crawley League into the now-defunct Southern Counties Combination.

From the late 1970s until the mid-1980s Forest were arguably the most successful side in the town, with Horsham struggling in the lower reaches of the Isthmian League and Horsham YMCA failing to make an impression in the County League.

1987-88 was a turning point for the club. A move from Forest School to the better facilities at Roffey Social & Sports Club in Spooners Road, meant the club was eligible for promotion to the County League. It has competed in Division Three since joining.

The club enjoyed its most successful season ever in 2001-02 when finishing in third place in Division Three, just one spot away from promotion to senior football for the first time. Since then however, and in spite of having multi-millionaire Victor Gladwish as Chairman, success has proved elusive, with the club finishing 5th in both 2005/06 and 2006/07. However, there are evidently long term plans to develop the Spooners Road site which, if they come to fruition, may spark an upsurge in the clubs fortunes.

Description of ground
There is a certain rural quality to the ground of Forest FC, with its tree-lined touchlines, and tucked away behind houses, just off the main road through the village of Roffey, not far from Horsham.

The ground, although basic is quite a pleasant surprise and worth a visit. Mid-way along the near touchline is a brick stand providing cover for around seventy spectators. Opposite were previously two dugouts, also of brick construction. In August 2004 newly promoted Rustington arrived to play their first ever County League fixture to find that the away dugout had been cannibalised by locals to build a barbeque, and had no roof and half its bricks missing!

At the end of July 2007 work began on two new breezeblock dugouts on either side of the stand.

The ground is bounded by a wooden perimeter fence. Large wooden posts, two of which originally on either side of the stand were originally intended to support floodlights, which never materialised. However, the posts have since been relocated to support netting behind the goal to catch any wayward balls. The local Sports & Social Club is behind the main goal, where there is also a large car park. This doubles as the clubhouse.
