Loxwood badgeLoxwood FC won promotion to the Sussex County League as runners-up to West Sussex League champions South Bersted in 2005/06.  The club will no doubt have been pleased with a season of consolidation which saw them finish in a mid-table position. Loxwood also performed well in cup competitions: reaching the semi-finals of the Division 3 League Challenge Cup before losing to eventual winners Pease Pottage Village; and also the Quarter Finals of the Sussex Intermediate Cup, when they went out to Little Common.

Perhaps less encouraging were attendances. An official attendance of 12 for the visit of Bosham on 28 April 2007 was the lowest recorded in the entire County League; whilst the season's average of 35 was only marginally better than that of Broadbridge Heath, officially the worst supported club. However, Loxwood were only spared that ignominy by virtue of the attendance for the visit of Uckfield Town which marked the club's first game in the League. No doubt the 100-strong crowd (more than twice the next highest gate for the season) was boosted by groundhoppers eager for a historic programme, and curious locals.

Description of ground
Loxwood FC is based at the Sports Association Ground just outside the village. There is ample car parking space just inside the main entrance, adjacent to the cricket field. The football pitch is beyond the large clubhouse and enjoys a lovely setting in what is best described as a forest glade, bordered on three sides by fir trees with two large dugouts along one touchline. One imagines that watching a game in winter might be like stepping into Narnia! The pitch is permanently railed on three sides, although there is no hard standing at present.

Directions
Traveling west on the A272 from Billingshurst, turn right on to the B2133 to Loxwood. Just before entering the village turn left into Plaistow Road and the Sports Association will be found soon afterwards on the left hand side. The football pitch is through the trees, on the other side of the Clubhouse and cricket field.

Nearest railway station: Billingshurst (approx. 6 miles)
