Three Bridges crestFormed in 1901, the first incarnation of the current club was as Three Bridges & Worth FC, competing in the Mid-Sussex Football League, and occasionally in the Redhill & District League. On reforming at the end of WW2 the Club changed its name to Three Bridges United until the beginning of the 1964 season when the ‘United’ suffix was dropped.

As Three Bridges United, the club achieved senior status in 1952 when they became founder members of the newly formed Division Two of the Sussex County Football League.

At the end of the 1954/55 season Three Bridges were promoted as Division Two champions, but were relegated after just one season, where they stayed until finishing runners-up in season 1968/69. At the end of the 1972/73 season they were relegated once more, but were promoted again.

The seasons since have seen a succession of promotions and relegations, to and from Division One of the County League – twice winning promotion in 1979/80 and in 1998/99. However, the club has also finished as runners-up in Division One on three occasions: seasons 1985/86, 1987/88 and 1988/89.

The arrival of the experienced Sammy Donnelly as manager ahead of the 2003/04 season saw Bridges installed as one of the favourites for the County League title. However, inconsistency stalled their championship bid as they eventually finished 4th, seven points behind Chichester City United. There was also a disappointing defeat to local rivals East Grinstead Town in the Final of the RUR Charity Cup; although the club did reach the semi-finals of the Sussex Senior Cup before losing to Worthing.

Bridges were the best supported club in the County League in 2003/04 and 2004/05 (remarkable given their proximity to Crawley Town), but lost their crown to Eastbourne Town in 2005/06 and 2006/07 despite an improvement in attendances in the latter season and acrowd of 216 drawn to the Jubilee Field for the visit of Town. The season's highest gate however, came in the local derby vs Oakwood although less than a third of that number watched the return fixture at Tinsley Lane.

Three Bridges have repeatedly applied for promotion to the Isthmian League. They certainly have one of the best grounds and everything appears to be in place for this ambitious club to move up the pyramid. All that is required is the small matter of doing the business on the pitch. A poor start in 2004/05 had much to do with a relatively disappointing 7th place finish, but the inescapable fact is that in recent seasons Bridges have been desperately disappointing and it has been suggested that greater stability behind the scenes is required before the club can begin to realise its potential.

Description of ground
Facilities at the Jubilee Field are now amongst the best in the County League, following construction of an attractive 110 seat stand along the near touchline in 2001. This replaced a covered shelter that originally stood there, and now provides the main cover at the ground.

The clubhouse on the far side of the pitch, and which also houses the dressing rooms, is very good indeed - one of the very best in the County League in fact; and was opened in 1996 after a fire destroyed the previous building. The overhanging roof does provide some additional respite from the elements but of particular note in this respect, are the large windows that front onto the pitch, allowing the more delicate spectator to watch from a comfortable (and warm) vantage point when the weather is bad.

In the past the Jubilee Field pitch was notorious for water-logging, but extensive drainage work has been undertaken in recent years.

The ground is clearly visible from the main road, and there is plentiful car parking, both adjacent to the clubhouse (hard standing) and behind the near goal. A new gate house at the entrance was built in 2004.
