Nomad-Online Football Club

The Nomad-Online ‘Select’ FC is a representative side comprised of members of the popular Discussion Forum. Team members include officials, supporters, and players from Non League clubs in Sussex. The only pre-requisite is that all must be registered with the Forum.

The squad made an impressive winning debut on Sunday 31 July 2005 at Wick FC, beating a Worthing FC Supporters’ Association XI 9-2 to win the ‘coveted’ Nomad-Online Invitation Charity Cup in aid of the NSPCC. The squad continued in an unstoppable vein by defeating Eastbourne United Veterans 8-1 in a memorial game for Steve Bernard on 27 November 2005 at Shoreham FC - the game raising in the region of £2,500 for Steve’s family.

That 100% record came to an abrupt halt on 15 October 2006 at Oakwood FC, in a game to celebrate the formal launch of the Crawley Town FC Supporters’ Trust, ‘The Devils’ Trust’. Although the initial idea was to play a team composed of Crawley Town supporters, the Nomad side found itself lining up against a team of Crawley Town Legends, several of whom were still playing at a high level or only recently retired, and predictably lost 2-9 ... great fun all the same.

We are keen to play more games for charity, so if you would like to organise a match please get in touch.
